About 67 Speed Games
A small independent project making webcam-powered motion mini-games that run entirely inside your browser. No account, no download, no server watching you move. Just stand up, allow camera access, and play.
Why we built this
The original 67 Speed arm-speed challenge went viral because it tapped into something very old and very fun: measuring how fast you can physically move. We loved that. We wanted a free, open version that anyone could open and play in ten seconds, worked on a regular laptop camera, and never needed to upload a single frame of video.
So we built 67 Speed Games โ first a faithful front-end reimplementation of the 20-second arm-speed challenge, and then Flappy Arms, an advanced mode that takes the same motion and turns it into a cardio flappy-bird where your arm pumps keep a chicken airborne. Same motion, two completely different kinds of difficulty.
How it works under the hood
Everything the games need lives in the browser. A webcam feed goes into Google MediaPipe's Pose Landmarker, which identifies your shoulders, elbows, and wrists roughly 30 times per second. We compare the vertical position of each wrist against the previous frame, and every time a wrist crosses a movement threshold in one direction and then the other, that counts as a rep โ or, in Flappy Arms, a flap impulse. None of this data is sent to a server.
Pose detection
Google MediaPipe Tasks Vision ยท Pose Landmarker Lite ยท local inference.
Rendering
Plain Canvas 2D for HUD, overlays, clouds, and the procedurally-drawn chicken.
Frontend
Static HTML, vanilla JavaScript modules, no build step, no framework.
Hosting
Cloudflare Pages edge delivery, HTTPS by default, zero backend.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 with two custom events: game_start and share_score.
Monetization
Free forever. Supported by contextual Google AdSense, no paywall.
What we care about
- Privacy by construction. Your camera feed literally cannot leave your device, because we don't have any server to send it to. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
- Zero friction. No sign-up, no email wall, no install. One click, one camera prompt, you're playing.
- Works on cheap laptops. The Lite pose model runs smoothly on low-end integrated GPUs. If it can open Chrome, it can play.
- Physical, silly, a little embarrassing. That's the whole point. If you can play these games without looking ridiculous, you're not playing them hard enough.
The project is independent
67 Speed Games is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the operators of 67speed.com โ it's an independent fan project that reimplements the mechanic from scratch in the open web. Trademarks and brand elements are the property of their respective owners.
